ASTM B363 Standard Requirements For GR5 Titanium Elbow
1. Scope: This standard specification covers the requirements for titanium and titanium alloy elbows for piping purposes.
2. Materials: The titanium and titanium alloys used in the manufacturing of elbows shall conform to the chemical composition requirements specified in ASTM B 265, B 337, B 338, B 348, B 381 or B 861.
3. Manufacture: The elbows shall be produced by such hot-forming methods as forging, rolling or bending.
4. Dimensions: The dimensions of the elbows shall conform to the requirements specified in the astm B363 standard.
5. Mechanical Properties: The mechanical properties of GR5 Titanium Elbow shall be tested in accordance with the requirements specified in ASTM B 363.
6. Surface Condition: The elbows shall be free from defects such as cracks, laps or seams and shall be smooth and free from burrs.
7. Testing: The elbows shall be tested in accordance with the requirements specified in ASTM B 363 for nondestructive testing, tension, hydrostatic or pneumatic testing.
8. Marking: Each elbow shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name or trademark, material designation, size, wall thickness, ASTM specification number and heat number.
9. Packaging: The elbows shall be packaged and protected to prevent damage, corrosion or deterioration during shipment and storage.
