Comparison of high temperature and corrosion resistance of TC4, TC6 and TC11 titanium alloys

1, TC4 titanium alloy:

Working temperature: -100-550℃, density: 4.51g/cm3 Room temperature mechanical properties (25℃) : tensile strength σb/MPa≥895, specified residual

Residual elongation stress σr0.2/MPa≥825, elongation δ5(%)≥10, section shrinkage (%)≥25 High temperature mechanical properties (400℃) tensile strength: σb/MPa≥620, lasting strength: σ100h/MPa≥570

TC4 titanium alloy has a series of advantages, such as excellent corrosion resistance, small density, high specific strength and good toughness and weldability. After solid solution strengthening treatment, the strength is not increased to 1100MPa, and the strength is generally 900MPa under annealing condition.

2, TC6 titanium alloy:

Operating temperature: 300℃, density: 4.51g/cm3 Room temperature mechanical properties (25℃) tensile strength σb/MPa≥980, residual elongation

Stress σr0.2/MPa≥840, elongation δ5(%)≥10, section shrinkage (%)≥25 High temperature mechanical properties (400℃) Tensile strength:σb/MPa≥735, lasting strength: σ100h/MPa≥665 Advantages: 300℃/5000h has good stability of microstructure and properties, different temperature instantaneous tensile, creep, durability and other high temperature properties of double annealing and isothermal annealing state.

TC6 titanium alloy after ordinary annealing treatment of TC6 titanium alloy semi-finished products can meet the requirements of aircraft structural parts operating temperature (below 300℃).

3, TC11 titanium alloy:

Operating temperature: 500℃, density: 4.51g/cm3 Room temperature mechanical properties (25℃) Tensile strength: σb/MPa>1030, gauge Sigma r0.2 on residual elongation stress/MPa 900 or higher, 5 (%) of 10 or higher elongation delta, reduction of area bits (%) of 30 or more high temperature mechanical properties (500 ° C) Tensile strength: σb/MPa>685, lasting strength: σ100h/MPa≥640

Comparison of wear resistance: TC4 and TC11 alloys have poor wear resistance at 25℃, and excellent wear resistance at 600℃  Exceptional wear resistance.

It can be seen from the above that TC4 is not as good as TC6 and TC11 in high temperature resistance, and TC11 has the highest strength, of course, it also has better wear resistance.
